mikuwrap ; november2011

... and the next wrap-up will mark the end of 2011!

Games;
I was somewhat skeptical when I was loading Mushroom Madness 3 (I've never played the previous games) - but three levels in, and I was became a very loyal mushroom protector! There are tons of enemies, tons of weapons - and it gets really excitingly messy! Without gore, too.

When you really get into the game, you feel like you're in Mission Impossibile: Mushroom.

Mission objective is to of course to save those mushrooms, although I think the joy of shooting and blowing mobs up sometimes overrides that goal.

Another shooter-puzzle game I recommend is Flaming Zombooka 3 Carnival. The gameplay as far as the puzzles go are quirky and pretty challenging - but what really makes this game worth every mouse-click is the countless zombies to be killed!

Especially when they blow up into red little pixel pieces!

Defend Your Nuts

First of all, +1 point for the witty game name! It's a short game, and is not as frustrating to the point where you would need to yell at the weirdest critters for stealing your nuts. Yes, pun totally intended. Coz this game's name is just-this-awesome.

Upgrades are available as usual, and weapons range from the basic bow to bazookas! I especially like the fact that weapons are changed by hotkeys. Reminds me of my DoTA days 8)

I didn't get the chance to play Knightfall when it was first released, but I'm glad I tolerated the long tutorial to play Knightfall 2!

A very interesting dungeon-puzzle game, you don't control the knight - but the board instead! Rotating it and breaking block allows you to fall onto monsters and kill them (yeah that's one heavy knight!) , collect keys and other spiffy items. The goal is to reach the exit with the key.

There's a map to traverse on, whether it be visiting taverns, dungeons or places with boss monsters. The quirky BGM is very fitting and as a game without time restraints, much time can be spent solving each level!

Song;
So Wonder Girls came back with a full album, with the title track Be My Baby. My first impression of the song wasn't anything near addictive, but it soon grew on me. Their live performances helped a lot.

However, compared to the original title track, I preferred the remix by Ra.D.
Ra.D has a godly talent, which makes all songs he is involved in instantly amazing.
Listen for yourself! I know I definitely like this version better!

Two other songs that I absolutely love from their Wonder World album is Girls, Girls and Dear, Boy and 두고두고.

Also, since we're on the topic of Wonder Girls - a compilation of all the "Nobody" covers done by other celebrities!

There are 3 parts - so go knock yourself out!

This is probably the shortest song (it probably doesn't count as a song but it's still so shortly sweet it has to be here!) I'll ever have on my wrapup - A Word I Give by Keith Kenniff and Ryuichi Sakamoto. More information over here.

Clazzi ft. 2AM's Seulong - How We Feel

A song from Clazziquai Project leader CLAZZI's first digital single album.
This duo is insane - awesome producer and awesome vocals.
The music video is funky, but not really my thing. THE SONG, however, is amazing and right up my lane! It's officially my feel-good song for the weeks to come!

Music Video;
T-ara - Cry Cry (Drama version)

Was not a fan of T-ara's Roly Poly drama music video - there was so much talking (which I of course didn't understand, or even bother to), and the song only played after half of the video was done!

Cry Cry is definitely an upgrade from Roly Poly. As addictive as the beat was for their previous comeback track - Cry Cry comes in a full package: song, lyrics, music videos, choreography, outfits.

They have three music videos in total - such hardworking girls!
The drama music video posted about, featuring Cha Seung Won as a super suave ajusshi;
A ballad version where tons of close-ups happen;
& a dance version, where you can loop forever to see the beautiful choreography.

Been looking forward to their live performances since they released their dance practice video! All the comeback stages were wonderful - and the refreshing parts in their dance was something I enjoyed. From Hyomin's part with the stick, to Boram's duet, to Jiyeon's sliding.

See for yourself :)

Comeback/Album;

Last but not least, is IU's You and I, packed into a wonderful album called Last Fantasy! In all honesty, the title track's choreography and the song somewhat remind me of Good Day - but it does not render this comeback any less awesome!

I love IU's dances - she embraces the fact that she is a singer, not a dancer - and just goes for quirky dances that match her song really well. Her voice, as usual - is just to die for.

If you have trouble figuring what's happening in the music video - someone has translated the official interpretation in the comments section.

The songs in her album showcase her amazing light but powerful voice - be it uplifting songs or ballads. I'm also very happy to say that Ra.D is featured in one of her tracks too! Would prefer it if he composed, but his voice is just as lovely.

Not very sure why her album is named Last Fantasy, but listening it sure feels like traversing through a surreal landscape, with the happy-go-lucky songs, the mysterious chimes and strings and the fairy-like voice to pull it all together.

Performance;
miss A totally rocked the MAMA awards this year with their funky remix of Good-Bye Baby!

Sporting ninja-yukata-esque costumes, much acrobatic-kung-fu has been incorporated into their kick-ass song!

Videos;
If you think stop-motion videos are wickedly awesome, don't miss watching this one made with much jellybeans! More information on the video can be found over at petapixel.

This fancam of Joon is too adorable!

Never have I seen an idol receive presents on stage whilst performing like that, and to continue dancing with those bags in his arms is just adorably funny.

Website;

They Draw And Cook is a super adorable website! Featuring recipes with superb illustration (or illustrations with practical recipes, whichever rocks your socks) - it's a must-check-out whether you're a cook, an artist/a designer - or both!

Designer-stuff;
CSS3 Generator
The designergeek in my rejoices *Q* Why have I not found it

A good read, even if you're not a web designer: Does every business need a Facebook page?

& randomly, my favorite buy of the month!
Coffee colored knitted poncho with butterfly sleeves :D

That's all for November folks!
